I was procrastinating my practice of piano for couple of months due to lack of motivation. I was feeling lazy to sit down and brainstorm on new pieces to learn. I was caught up in a daily routine of struggling to find a job and applying for further study but at the end of the day I was doing nothing except of just getting more depressed about thinking of my future.

This technique is new to me and I found it really helpful for increasing my focus by reducing distractions. So, I decided to perform this technique by choosing to learn one of my favorite piano pieces.

Name of the soundtrack is ā€œArrival Of the Birdsā€ from the movie ā€œTheory of Everythingā€.

4 Ticks Completed
  • This technique was not difficult for me instead I consider it as an helpful technique. I wrote down some distractions that pop up into my mind and later on I tried to overcome those distractions by focusing on the completion of the task.
  • It helped me focused more than before. I sat for 25 min with full attention to learn that piece and at the time of break I relaxed for 2 min and got back to the task again. I have not completed the task 100% due to other activities but I can assure that I can be more productive If Iā€™ll spent some more time to follow this technique.
  • I ā€˜ll definitely perform this technique again. I can increase the time of break to relax more or I can increase the limit of laps (25 min/lap) according to my task requirement. It is a fun yet productive technique.
